ABUJA INFRASTRUCTURE INVESTMENT CENTER HANDLES FCT, PPPs
In order to mobilize private investment to build public infrastructure in line with global practice, the FCT Minister, Dr. Aliyu Modibbo Umar has established the Abuja Infrastructure Investment Center (AIIC).
The Minister said that AIIC would mobilize private investment to build public infrastructure at ease by removal of bureaucratic bottlenecks.
Dr. Umar stated that, this new body is expected to foster excellence and efficiency in the provision of public infrastructure as well as creating the needed environment for effective partnerships with the private sector in planning and managing public infrastructure.
The Minister remarked that the Center has been established with the intention of working with the different infrastructure sponsoring bodies in the FCT, with a view to building a portfolio of public infrastructure investment pipelines for the attraction of private investors.
The Abuja Infrastructure Investment Center which would to serve as interface between the private investors in public infrastructure and FCT Administration as well as its agencies is being chaired by the FCT Minister, Dr. Aliyu Modibbo Umar and driven by a Coordinator, Mr. Hassan Muhammadu.
